Mattocks Honored as NECC Rookie for 2nd Straight Week

For the second time in as many weeks, freshman guard Anthony Mattocks (Sarasota, Fla.) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Communications Robb Modica made the announcement this morning in the NECC Men's Basketball Weekly Report. From the report:

For the second week in a row, Mattocks has been named NECC Rookie
of the Week. The freshman point guard has driven the Lynx offense as
he averaged 15 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while playing 35
minutes per game in a 1-1 week for Lesley. Mattocks had a game-high
16 points in a big win over Daniel Webster College on Thursday night to
go with his five rebounds and four assists. On the week, he went 47%
from the floor, 43% from deep, and an outstanding 91% from the free
throw line.

Over the past five games, Mattocks has averaged 13.4 points, 3.2 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 47% from the floor and a tremendous 50% from three-point range.
