CAMBRIDGE, MA -- Lesley University point guard John Sanchez has been named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week after averaging 23 points over three games on the week.

Sanchez averaged 23 points, 4.3 assists and 3.7 steals per game while shooting 53 percent from the field, 67 percent (4-6) from three-point range and 90 percent (27-30) from the free throw line in a 1-2 week for the Lynx.

The senior guard scored a career-high 30 points, 21 after halftime, in anchoring a comeback from a seven-point second-half deficit in Lesley's 73-67 win Thursday night at Mitchell. He shot 7-11 from the floor, 3-3 from three-point land and 13-14 from the charity stripe to go along with game-highs of eight assists and six steals.

He followed that performance up with 29 points, three assists and three steals in a five point loss at Elms.

For the season, Sanchez ranks second in the NECC at 17.9 points per game, leading the league with 129 free throws and 78 assists.
