BROOKLINE, Mass. - With less than a minute left in regulation, Newbury College freshman Corey Charubini (Hull, Mass.) hit a crucial three-point bucket to give the Nighthawks a 54-52 advantage over Lesley University with just 56 seconds remaining.  The Nighthawks would go on to win the game 56-54.

With the loss, Lesley dropped to 4-17 (1-7 NECC) while Newbury improved to 7-13 (4-5 NECC).

Newbury had four players score in double figures with Kevin Cleveland (Lynn, Mass.) leading the way with 13 points.  Walky Magloire (Waltham, Mass.), John Rowley Jr. (Hartford, Conn.), and Charubini finished with 12, 12, and 11 points, respectively.

For the Lynx, Nijel Robinson (Plainsboro, N.J.) came off the bench to score a game-high 25 points on 9-of-14 from the floor including 5-of-8 from three-point range. 

The Lesley big men Malcolm Andrews (Medford, Mass.) and Jesus Trejo (Methuen, Mass.) scored 10 and nine points each and Trejo added 22 rebounds in the two-point defeat.

The Lynx took a 10-point advantage with 7:52 remaining in the game after a made layup by Andrews.  Over the next four minutes, the Nighthawks would chip away at the lead to get within one-point at 50-49. 

Newbury's Cleveland then recorded a steal and scored a layup to give Newbury their first lead since the first minute of the second half.  On the next possession, however, Lesley's Robinson drained a jumper to give the Lynx back the lead. 

Just over a minute later, Charubini would hit his game-deciding three-pointer and Newbury walked away victorious. 

Lesley will host Daniel Webster College on Saturday, February 14 at 6:00 pm.  Newbury travels to Wheelock College on Thursday for a 7:00 pm game.
