NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Lesley University men's basketball team suffered their fifth loss against New England Collegiate Conference opponents on Saturday afternoon, losing to Mitchell College 78-52. The Lynx got a solid performance from Jonathan Cruz (Haverhill, Mass.) who led his team with 22 points.
Mitchell was paced by Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) who scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Murray was 10-of-24 from the floor and also chipped in with four steals and three assists.
The Mariners shot 46.0% from the field and held their opponents to just 32.3% shooting efficiency.
Lesley's Jesus Trejo (Methuen, Mass.) grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds and chipped in 11 points. Eight of Trejo's 17 rebounds were on the offensive glass.
The Lynx will be in action against Colby-Sawyer College on January 27th at 7:00 pm in New London, New Hampshire. Mitchell will travel to Elms College for a game on January 29th.
