Jesus Trejo, ROTW for second time

WHITINGHAM, Vt. - In a week in which the Lesley University men's basketball team went 2-1, including a historic victory over UMass Boston, freshman center Jesus Trejo (Methuen, Mass.) earned North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week honors for the second week in a row.

Trejo averaged 16.0 ppg, 62.1 FG%, 10.7 rebounds/g, and had four blocks in those three games.  In the two wins, the rookie center recorded his second and third double-doubles of his young career.

Against Eastern Nazerene College Trejo posted 20 points, 12 rebounds, and had two blocks in the 80-63 victory.

In the first game of the Hampton Inn Harbor Invitational, the Lynx had their first win against a state school in the university's history, thanks in large part to Trejo's 24 points and 14 rebounds (10 defensive).

Head Coach Scott Willard commented on Trejo's early season success and his value to the Lynx, "Jesus has come in with a great attitude and inspiring determination to improve his game.  We have had to throw him into the fire early against quality teams and he has responded with impressive numbers you don't normally see from a freshman."

Trejo and the rest of the Lynx will be back in action this Saturday December 1 at 1 p.m. against Colby-Sawyer.
