Keene State Tournament breakdown

Lesley 63, Salve Regina 85

Keene, N.H. - The Lynx men's basketball team finished up their tournament this weekend against Salve Regina, losing 63-85.

Four players were in double figures for Lesley as Joseph Chatman (Boston, Mass.), Mark Stevens (Las Vegas, Nev.), Jesus Trejo (Methuen, Mass.) and Elliot King (Malden, Mass.) scored 15, 15, 15 and 13 a piece.  Trejo also grabbed 13 rebounds to complete his first double-double in his rookie season.

Salve Regina also had four players in double figures, but their defensive forced Lesley to commit 21 turnovers.  Salve converted those turnovers into 35 points.  Salve also beat Lesley with more points in the paint 30-20 and had more contribution off their bench as they talled 26 bench points to Lesley's 18.

Lesley forced 19 turnovers of their own and Chatman had four steals on the game, but it was not enough as the Lynx dropped back-to-back games.

Lesley will look to get back on track for their first regular season home game on Tuesday November 20 at 8 p.m. against Eastern Nazarene College.

Lynx lose to high ranked Keene State 70-106

Keene, N.H. - In their first game of the 2007-2008 season, the Lesley University men's basketball fell to Keene State College in KSC's Tip-Off Tournament 70-106.

Despite 18 and 17 points from Mark Stevens (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Jesus Trejo (Methuen, Mass.) respectively, the Lynx could not keep up with 22nd best team in Division III according to d3hoops.com.

Keene State was led by Travon Little who nearly had a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds.  Teammate Anthony Licitra dropped 20 points and dished out 5 assists off the bench, while Tyler Kathan got both 10 boards and 10 points.

Lesley fell into a big hole in the first half and went into the locker room at halftime down 25-55.  In the second half, the Lynx fought hard and kept pace with Keene scoring 45 to their 51 points.

Despite the loss, the Lynx had contributions from several different players which can only mean good things for when the conference match ups begin.
