Jesus Trejo nabs Player of the Week honors

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Elms College freshman guard Jen Normandie (Westford, Mass.), after last week being named Rookie of the Week, grabs the Player of the Week Honors leading the Blazers with 20 points in a 57-44 loss against Smith. Normandie shot 66% from the floor (8-for-12) and a perfect 100% from the free-throw line (4-for-4). She also chipped in four rebounds, three steals and one assist.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Bay Path College sophomore forward Nadine Harkless (Westfield, Mass.) helped the Wildcats to a 1-1 week. Harkless averaged 6.5 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game. In a 64-55 victory over St. Joseph's of Connecticut, she had 10 points, six boards, two assists and two steals. For the week, Harkless shot 36% (5-for-14) from the field and 40% (2-for-5) from the free throw line. 

MEN'S BASKETBALL

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Lesley University junior center Jesus Trejo (Methuen, Mass.) was a defensive force for the Lynx averaging 19.0 rebounds per game including 14 offensive boards and 39 total points. Trejo helped Lesley to their first win of the season going 1-1 on the week notching a 20-20 game with 20 points and 20 rebounds in a 71-57 victory over Eastern Nazarene. For the week, he averaged 19.5 points, 0.5 assists, steals and blocks along with a 62% (18-for-29) shooting percentage from the field.
