STRONG SHOWING FOR LYNX AT NCAA REGIONALS

(WESTFIELD, Mass.)- The men's and women's cross country teams participated in the NCAA Division III Cross Country regional this past Saturday atWestfield State finishing amongst the top programs in the country.

On the men's side, Max Bulger (Falmouth, Maine) placed 78th out of 351 runners with a time of 26:36.19 to help lead the Lynx team to 20th overall out of 50 teams at the regional event. Also, finishing for the Lynx, Andrew Scott (Merrimac, Mass.) placed 110th with a time of 27:14.32. Freshmen Nick Green (Stoughton, Mass.) crossed the finish line with a time of 27:35.00 to place 136th. Sophomore Evan Reseska  (Holliston, Mass.) edged out Travis Delaney of U-Mass. Boston by 1-second with a time of 27:51.30 (148th). Chris Conforti (Brattleboro, Vt.) placed 180th with a time of 28:21.13 while freshman teammate Ian Barber (Westhampton, Mass.) finished 236th with a time of 29:55.77. John Capaldi (Lincoln, R.I.) rounded out the finishers for Lesley placing 290th with a time of 31:40.68.
In women's action Leah Miller (Thomaston, Conn.) placed 70th out of 367 competitors to help lead Lesley to a 29th overall finish out of 51 teams. Miller, a junior, finished with a time of 23:06.06 to top all Lynx runners. Senior Keryn Thorvaldsen (Sayville, N.Y.) followed Miller placing 81st with a time of 23:17.29. Jackie Rosa (Wolcott, Conn.) crossed the line in 206th place with a time of 25:42.34 while freshmen Emilia McGrath (Bowdoin, Maine) finished with a time of 25:59.28, placing her 227th in the field. Noa Kupfer (Woodbridge, Conn.) followed McGrath in 230th place with a time of 26:07.11 while Elena Pereira (Wilmington, Vt.) finished 275th with a time of 27:25.31. Elissa May (Middleboro, Mass.) rounded out the field for Lesley placing 289th with a time of 27:58.87
