CAMBRIDGE, MA -- Lesley's Keryn Thorvaldsen was again named New England Collegiate Conference Runner of the Week after setting a Lynx record with a time of 18:56 at UMass-Dartmouth Shriners Invitational on Saturday.

The senior finished 14th out of 293 runners and led the Lynx to a 15th place finish out of 38 teams. Her finish of 18:56 marks the first time a Lynx runner has cracked the 19:00 mark and breaks Leah Miller's 5k school record set on October 29, 2011.

The award marks her second straight NECC Runner of the Week honor.

Thorvaldsen and the Lynx have next Saturday off before returning September 29 at Gordon College's Pop Crowell Invitational in Wenham, MA.
