Lynx take first at Saints Invitational

BOSTON, MA -- Friday marked another milestone in Lesley cross country history, as the Lynx women's runners won the Saints Invitational, finishing first out of 18 teams this afternoon in Boston's Franklin Park.

Dan Flynn's men's team also enjoyed success, finishing in eighth place in the event hosted by Emmanuel College.

Flynn's women placed four runners in the Top 10 finishers and six in the Top 20. Sophomore Noa Kupfer led Lesley runners, finishing in sixth at 20:39. Freshmen Ana Lutkevich and Leah Miller finished eight and ninth, each coming in at 20:49, and fellow first-year Jessica Foster came in 10th at 20:55.

Three Worcester State runners followed the trio of Lynx, then Lesley freshman Kat Vicino finished 14th at 21:09. Junior Elise McKelvey rounded out the Top 20, clocking in at 21:28 for the Lynx.

Flynn's women's team finished with 38 points, besting Babson, which finished second at 57. Lesley's average time for the 5k course was 20:52.20.

On the 8k track, freshman Kyle Casiglio led the Lynx in ninth place at 27:47. Chris Conforti came in at 28:07, good for 17th place and senior Brian Axelrod took 43rd out of 145 runners at 30:03.

Johnson & Wales won the men's side, leading the 15-team field with an average time of 27:04. 

The Lynx take next weeked off to gear up for the New England Collegiate Conference Championship at Harkness Memorial State Park in New London Connecticut on October 30 at 10:00 a.m.
