BOSTON, Mass. – Fran Cusick (LEXINGTON,
Mass./Arlington Catholic) ran faster than his previous
best at the Saints Invitational with a time of 26:43.17. He beat
his previous best time at this race by 16 seconds. The Lynx as a
team finished tied for 10th place with New Hampshire Technical.
The men's team also beat Daniel Webster College and Mitchell
College, two New England Collegiate Conference schools that Lesley
will face off against at the NECC Championships.
Also on the men's side, Brian Axelrod (RIVER VALE,
N.J./Pascack Valley) clocked in at 30:01.39 and
Dillon Simmons (MIDDLEBORO, Mass./Middleboro)
finished at 30:33.27. Gus Peluso (MIDDLETOWN,
Md./Middletown) also ran a solid race with a time of
32:12.94.
On the women's side, Noa Kupfer (WOODBRIDGE,
Conn./Amity Regional) led a Lynx squad that finished in
8th place as a team. Kupfer crossed the finish line at
20:15.23.
Elissa May (MIDDLEBORO, Mass./Middleboro) came in
second for the Lynx with a time of 22:07.55 and Elize
McKelvey (BALTIMORE, Ohio/Fairfield Union) came in right
behind May at 22:18.21. Keryn Thorvaldsen (RIVERDALE,
N.J./Pompton Lakes) ran well with a time of 22:58.93.
The Lynx will have two weeks off until the NECC Championships which
will be held on Saturday, October 31 at Chicopee State Park
starting at 10:00 am.
