XC competes at All-New England Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. - With nearly 50 schools competing at the All-New England Invitational, the Lesley University men's and women's cross country teams had an opportunity to showcase their abilities to the best running programs in the region.

The men's team was led by Fran Cusick (LEXINGTON, Mass./Arlington Catholic) who came in 195th place and nearly broke the 27 minute mark with a time of 27:03. 

Rounding out Lesley's top three runners were Brian Axelrod (RIVER VALE, N.J./Pascack Valley) and Dillon Simmons (MIDDLEBORO, Mass./Middleboro).  Axelrod crossed the finish line at 29:56 and Simmons close after his teammate with a time of 31:13.

As a team, the men ranked in 44th place.

Noa Kupfer (WOODBRIDGE, Conn./Amity Regional) was tops for the women once again as the freshman finished in 182nd place overall with a time of 20:19. 

Jess Arnold (HILTON, N.Y./Hilton), Elize McKelvey (BALTIMORE, Ohio/Fairfield Union), and Elissa May (MIDDLEBORO, Mass./Middleboro) were bunched together until the final moments of the race with each runner coming in 267th, 277th, and 290th place respectively.  Arnold clocked in at 21:50, McKelvey at 22:05, and May at 22:30.

As a team, the women ranked in 45th place.

The Lynx will next race in the Saints Invitational at Franklin Park on Friday, October 16 at 4:00 pm.
