Lesley runners race at the Pop Crowell Invitational

WENHAM, Mass. - The Lesley University men's and women's cross country teams raced at the Pop Crowell Invitational, held on the campus of Gordon College, and both teams once again finished ahead of rival New England Collegiate Conference schools at the same race.

The men's team finished in 14th place (395) overall ahead of Daniel Webster College (543) and Newbury College (566) who ended in 19th and 20th place, respectively.

Leading the pack for the Lynx was Fran Cusick (LEXINGTON, Mass./Arlington Catholic) whose time of 27:24 was good for seventh place overall.  He finished 93 seconds ahead of a competing NECC runner.

Brian Axelrod (RIVER VALE, N.J./Pascack Valley) and Dillon Simmons (MIDDLEBORO, Mass./Middleboro) crossed the finish line in 82nd and 100th place, respective with times of 30:28 and 31:20. 

On the women's side, Noa Kupfer (WOODBRIDGE, Conn./Amity Regional) was one of the top runners in a competitive field once again, finishing in  13th place with a time of 19:57. 

Elize McKelvey (BALTIMORE, Ohio/Fairfield Union) and Jessica Arnold (HILTON, N.Y./Hilton) finished back-to-back in 62nd and 63rd place one second apart with McKelvey coming in at 21:37 and Arnold coming in at 21:38.

As a team the Lynx ended in 13th place (341), far ahead of NECC rivals Wheelock College (623) and Newbury College (635). 

Lesley will next race at the All-New England Invitational on Saturday, October 10 starting at 10:00 am.
