Despite harsh conditions, Lynx impress at NAC Championships

FARMINGTON, Me. - The course at the North Atlantic Conference Championships near the campus of UMaine-Farmington was muddy and difficult to manage, but the Lesley University cross-country team still managed to produce excellent performances from their top runners.

In the men's race 8K race, Frannie Cusick (Lexington, Mass.) finished in fourth place with a time of 29:18.  The three runners ahead of him were all from UMaine-Farmington (23) who won the event over Castleton State College (43), and Maine Maritime Academy (64).  Lesley did not factor into the team scoring totals.

In the women's 5K race, Charlotte Goff (Osterville, Mass.) crossed the finish line at 22:34 which was good for seventh place overall.  Teammate Heather Peng (Palo Alto, Calif.) raced hard for ninth place with a time of 23:02.  Ella Stiler-Cote (Kennebunkport, Me.) had her best finish of the year, coming in 12th place at 23:21.  As a team, the Lynx (70) finished in third place behind UMaine-Farmington (27) and Castleton State College (41).

Lesley has one more race until their season ends.  On Saturday November 10, the team will be at the NCAA Regional meet at Connecticut College.
