Ranere Wins NECC Women's Championship, Lynx Place Second

MEET OVERVIEW:

WESTFIELD, MA - The Lesley Women's Cross Country team participated in the NECC Championship Races hosted by Westfield State on Saturday October 26th. The races were held at Stanley Park in Westfield.

INSIDE THE MEET:

  • Senior Kayla Ranere finished first overall, earning the title of the NECC's top woman runner. Ranere finished the 5K in 22:06.6, eleven seconds ahead of New England College's Haleigh Bilodeau in second place. Ranere's mile split was 7:07.
  • The Lynx finished second overall as a team, only behind Elms College. The next five runners after Ranere and Bilodeau were Blazers and they ended up with six runners in the top ten, putting Elms in a great position for the championship. Lesley finished with 75 points, four ahead of the third place Dean Bulldogs.
  • Morgan Anderson finished second for the Lynx at 27:42, with Kathryn Pope coming third at 29:22. Anderson finished in 18th place and Pope finished 21st.
  • Mary Pulling and Summer Lamprey finished fourth and fifth for the Lynx, with Pulling coming in at 30:38 and Lamprey finishing at 34:38.

The Lynx will finish up their season with the NCAA Division III Championship at Bowdoin College on Saturday November 16th.
