Women's Cross Country Runs to 8th Place at Saints Invite

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University women's cross country ran to an 8th place finish this afternoon at the 11th Annual Saints Invitational hosted by Emmanuel College. The Lynx totaled 203 points and averaged a 22:15 time as a team on the 5k Franklin Park course.

Senior Amy Bouchard (Goffstown, N.H.) led the way for Lesley as she crossed the finish line at 21:41 while sophomore Nicole Footer (Lewiston, Maine) followed with a season-best time of 21:55. Junior Jordan Penney (Eliot, Maine) set a new personal-record as she cruised the 5k course in 22:04.

Senior Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) joined Penney with a new personal-best time of 22:47 and classmate Abbey Coppinger (Moultonborough, N.H.) crossed on Altschuler's heels with a season-best 22:48.

Junior Alex Dimauro (Woburn, Mass.) and freshman Kimberly Eldredge (Kingston, Mass.) came in at 24:41 and 24:45, respectively, while sophomore Anne Cooper (Harvard, Mass.) crossed at 25:44. First year Kayla Ranere (Danbury, Conn.) came in at 25:58 and junior Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) followed with a season-best at 26:21.

Sophomore Beth Caronna (Longmeadow, Mass.) and junior Caitlin Sugrue (Rockland, Mass.) wrapped up Lesley's day with respective times of 27:38 and 29:37.

On the men's side, sophomore Mike Fleming (Southwick, Mass.) turned in a personal-best time to lead the Lynx as he crossed at 32:43. Freshman Matt Mori (Natick, Mass.) followed Fleming with a time of 33:15 while senior Kolin Perry (Reno, Nev.) came in at 35:43.

Junior David Foust (Newton, Mass.) and freshman Matt Arsenault (York, Maine) posted times of 37:24 and 38:42, respectively, while freshman Ethan Merians (Larchmont, N.Y.) crossed at 46:04.

Lesley will be off next weekend as they prepare for the New England Collegiate Conference Championships on Saturday, October 29th at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.
