THE LEAD – In the inaugural meetings between Lesley University and Thomas College, the Terriers came out victorious, 3-0 (25-7, 25-10, 25-5) on Friday evening vs. the Lynx in NCAA Division III and North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Volleyball action at Minuteman Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The squads traded points to a 5-5 score before Thomas rattled off 15 consecutive points to take a commanding 20-5 lead behind the service game of MJ Rose (Modesto, Calif.) that included six aces to cruise to the 25-7 win.
  • The Terriers kept the momentum going early in set two, racing out to a 5-1 lead and then put together a 9-1 surge in the middle of the frame to move the score to 19-7 following a Halle Ham (Richmond, Tex.) ace. Lesley rattled off three straight points to pull within 19-10 but Thomas closed the set with the final six points for the 25-10 win.
  • Ham served up a pair of aces to open the third frame and Thomas never trailed en route to the 25-5 win to sweep the match, 3-0.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Thomas hit .333 as a team in the win, including .467 in the third set.
  • Rose collected a match-high 11 kills while hitting at a gaudy .647 clip to go along with nine aces.
  • Lesley first year libero Korinne Hall-Johnson (North Brunswick, N.J.) picked up a match-high 12 digs in the setback.

  • Lesley is back on the court tomorrow morning for a pair of matches vs. Maine Maritime Academy starting at 11:00 AM in more NAC action.
