THE LEAD –  The Lynx dropped both games against UMPI, falling to 0-8 on the season. UMPI recorded their first two wins on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Game 1
  Owls (3-0): 25-15, 25-9, 25-19
   The teams started off the first set with some back and forth play before the Owls went on a 9-0 run late in the set to give them a 21-12 lead before finishing off the first set. With the first set out of the way, the Owls kept the runs going with an early one to give them a 9-3 lead. Shortly after, the Owls would get hot with Myah Bragdon serving, the Owls would go on a 10-0 run to give them a 23-8 lead. The Lynx would putt up a fight in the third set as the teams exchanged points and short runs. It would be the Owls that would end up with another win to complete the match victory.
• Game 2
  Owls (3-0): 25-17, 25-6, 25-17
  Early in the first set, the Owls found themselves down before quickly regrouping with a 5-0 run to take a 12-7 lead. Yet another run, 8-0 brought their lead to 22-12 later in the set to take the first win. Continuing their dominance, the Owls went on a 9-0 run in the second to spark another lead, eventually winning the set in a final 8-0 run. With the Owls up 24-13 late in the third set, the Lynx would put together a 4-0 run to give the Owls a scare. Although, the Owls would put the final set away to secure the sweep.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Emma Welch recorded nine kills and 16 digs on the pair of matches.
• Renee Hatch added a pair of kills and seven digs.

UP NEXT

• The Lynx are back on the field Monday, September 25^th with a road matchup against Curry College, starting at 4:00.
