THE LEAD – The Lynx opened home-play with their second straight matchup against the Mass. Maritime Buccaneers. Lesley and Mass. Maritime faced off this past weekend during a tri-match with Fisher. The Buccaneers pulled off another win against Lesley despite the Lynx taking an early lead in each set.
HOW IT HAPPENED-FISHER
- The Buccaneers and Lynx kept the score tight at the start of the first set, at a 3-3 score. The Buccaneers pulled ahead 8-3 after a series of aces from Chloe Johnson. The Lynx put two more points up on the board but the Buc's advanced to a 20-5 lead after another series of aces this time from Marlo Stark.
- To start the second set Lesley put the first point on the board but didn't record another point until Mass. Maritime was ahead by 12 points. The Buccaneers took the second set 20-5.
- The third set started off similarly to the first and second. Lesley came from behind with a 9-4 score and got within four point's of the Buc's. The ball continued to go back and forth, Mass. Maritime eventually winning 25-13.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Emma Welch led the Lynx with six kills, matching her career record.
- Sinead Thomas and Estephany Morales contributed three assists each on the loss.
- The Lynx walked away from the match with eight kills, seven assists, three aces, and 16 digs.
- Welch was credited with the only block of the entire match, for both teams.

- The Lynx are back on the court Saturday, September 23rd with a conference doubleheader at UMaine-Presque Isle.
