Lynx downed Dean 3-2, Remain Untouched in Conference Action

FRANKLIN-Mass.---The Lesley University women's volleyball team remain undefeated in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play as they rallied for a 3-2 come from behind victory over Dean College. The Bulldogs fall to 11-13, 3-3 in the NECC. Lesley improves to 12-13 on the year and remain untouched in the conference 6-0.

Dean took the early lead winning the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-22. The Lynx came back looking for revenge as claiming the third set 25-14. Lesley battled back and tied the match at 2-2 in the fourth set 29-27, forcing a win or go home fifth set. The final set of the night was a nail biter but it was a pair of Kaylee Deluga (Dennis, Mass.) kills that secured the 15-13 victory over the Bulldogs.

Deluga led the team in kills with 18 where classmate Anni Abbruzzese (Croton on Hudson, N.Y.) followed with 15. Deluga and Abbruzzese also led the Lynx in digs with 22 and 17 a piece. Freshman Tallin Goldberg (Merrimack, N.H.) dished out 42 assists. Melanie Rios-Nevarez (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico) handed out 32 helpers for the Bulldogs. Junior Kaitlyn Anderson (Clinton, Conn.) tallied 15 kills on the night for Dean.

Women's volleyball head coach Jim Ray says "after being down two sets to zero and to fight back with such resilience and determination shows the heart of this Lynx team. They are a remarkable group of young ladies."

The Lynx thank the class of 2018 on Saturday October 28,2017 in a critical NECC matchup. Lesley hosts Elms College in a battle for first place with a 6:00 p.m. start time. "I'm looking forward to Saturday's match up with Elms" concluded Ray.
