Women's Volleyball Notches First Win in Sweep of ENC

QUINCY, Mass.- The Lesley University women's volleyball team earned their first victory of the season, dropping host Eastern Nazarene College in straight sets, 3-0 (25-10, 25-22, 25-12), this evening in non-conference play at the Lahue Center. The win was the first career victory for head coach Maribeth Martin as the Lynx improve to 1-2 overall. With the loss, the Lions fall to 1-4.

Lesley freshman Kaylee Deluga (Dennis, Mass.) led the Lynx with 13 kills while hitting over .600 for the second straight match. Sophomore Anni Abbruzzese (Croton on Hudson, N.Y.) added 11 kills and seven digs while senior Jess Reynolds (Londonderry, N.H.) notched a season-best seven kills for the guests. Senior Danielle McDonald (Lilitz, Pa.) led all players with 15 digs while classmate Emily Marden (Fremont, Calif.) finished with 14 digs and a match-best 33 assists.

The Lynx held a distinct advantage in nearly every statistical category including a 38-10 advantage in kills, 61-39 edge in digs, while swinging a collective .194 compared to -.158.

Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) paced the hosts with six kills and added one block. Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) finished with 10 digs, eight assists and two aces on the night. Oksana DiCamillo (Eighty-Four, Pa.) racked up 10 digs in the match while Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) chipped in with seven digs and two kills.

The Lynx return to non-conference play on Thursday when they travel to Salem State University at 6:00p while the Lions will host a tri-match against Maine Maritime and Salem State on Saturday at the Lahue Center.
