WESTON, MA -- For a second match in a row, Lesley jumped out to a 2-0 match lead, this time putting its opponent away in four sets, winning 3-1 (29-27, 25-18, 9-25, 25-19) on the road over Regis in New England Collegiate Conference women's volleyball action.

A trio of Lynx posted double-doubles as the team won its second straight NECC match and third of four overall. Junior Megan Ortwein totaled 12 kills, 14 digs and a match-high .268 hitting percentage, freshman Danielle Johnson threw down 10 kills to go along with 19 digs and junior Kaitlyn Miller handed out 25 assists to go with 12 digs as the Lynx improved to 7-15 and 3-4 in NECC play.

The opening set was a see-saw battle in which the teams traded leads for most of the game. A bad set by Miller put the Pride ahead 12-10, but the Lynx rallied back to take a 15-14 lead on a Johnson kill. Several ties later, Regis regained a two-point lead and brought forth game point on a Caitlyn Walsh service ace, 24-22, but an Alyson Finbow kill, a Pride service error and an Ortwein kill gave Lesley a 26-25 lead.

Tied at 27-27, a Miller kill a Pride attack error gave Lesley a 29-27 opening set victory.

The Lynx forced a Regis timeout after another Finbow kill put the visitors ahead 4-2, but the Pride rallied back to take a 10-7 lead on a pair of Domingas Gomes service aces. With the set tied at 15-15, a Kayla Henry ace sparked a 10-3 Lynx run, and Lesley went on to a 25-18 win.

Kills from Johnson and Ortwein broke a 5-5 tie in Game 3, but it was all Pride from there. Ten Lynx errors and eight Regis kills led to a 20-2 Pride run that emphatically closed out Game 3, a 25-9 Regis win.

Tricia Lawler's Lynx rebounded in the fourth set, with consecutive service aces from Miller opening up a 13-10 Lesley lead. An Ortwein kill increased the advantage to 17-12 before Regis battled back with four straight points to make it a 17-16 game, but that was as close as the Pride would come.

Johnson, Miller and Ortwein threw down consecutive kills, upping the lead to 20-16, and Lesley closed out the win with a Henry spike on a feed from Miller, winning 25-19.

At 3-4 in NECC play, the Lynx have now pulled a full game ahead of Elms (2-5) for the sixth and final playoff spot.

Lesley returns to play Thursday night in non-league play at Mass Maritime Academy.
