Volleyball's win streak snapped at five at Mount Ida

NEWTON, MA -- The Lynx (5-6) had their five-match winning streak snapped Thursday night, falling to Mount Ida 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-6) in non-conference play.

Kaitlin Miller handed out match-high 15 assists, with reigning New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week Amanda McCracken throwing down nine of Lesley's 18 kills.

"We committed way too many mental errors and played out of system," head coach TJ Hajjar said.

Defensively, Jamie Rosenburg and Megan Ortwein each totaled eight digs for the Lynx, while Kaitlin Wechsler collected three solo blocks and assisted on another.

For Mount Ida (9-5), which never relinquished its lead in any set, Chelsea Darnell tied McCracken for match-high honors with nine kills. Devyn Frank led all players with four solo blocks, while Cody Fusco totaled 14 assists.

The loss is Lesley's fifth in seven road contests on the season. Hajjar's Lynx open NECC play with a road tri-match on Saturday, taking on host Bay Path at noon and Mitchell College at 2:00 p.m.
