Lynx Snap Skid at Simmons, Sink Sharks in Five

BOSTON, MA -- Lesley snapped a five-match road losing streak with a gutsy 3-2 win at Simmons Friday night.

"We finally figured out what it is to be a team tonight," said Lynx head coach TJ Hajjar. "We played with great attitude. We played with a great sense of urgency to win the fifth game."

Kaitlyn Miller and Meghan Chadwick led the Lynx offense with 29 assists and seven aces, respectively. Caitlyn Vandenburgh anchored Hajjar's defense with 14 digs, while Amanda McCracken added eight digs to go along with 16 kills to only four errors.

"Caitlyn played great defense for us tonight," said Hajjar.

After Lesley narrowly took the first two sets, 25-23 and 25-22, the Sharks battled back to win the next two games, 12-25 and 17-25. In securing the Lynx first road win of the season, Lesley captured the deciding set, 15-12.

"We really had to dig deep for that fifth set," he said.

The Lynx improve to 2-5 on the season, while Simmons falls to 1-7.

After wrapping up its six-match road trip, Lesley returns to Cambridge to take on St. Joseph (CT) Monday night at 7:30.
