McCracken again named NECC Player of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, MA – After leading the Lynx to a 4-0 week, Lesley University women’s volleyball player Amanda McCracken (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) has been named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday morning.

McCracken's career week culminated in a monster match in Lesley's 3-2 win over MCLA at the Salem State tri-match, where the Lynx left 2-0. She crushed a season-best 31 kills to only three errors over 53 attempts, partnered with a pair of service aces, five digs and five solo blocks. In the Lynx perfect week, she totaled 80 kills and only 13 kill errors, dominating the defensive side of the net for 18 blocks, as well.

"This has been by far Amanda's best week," said head coach TJ Hajjar, a high praise for a player voted league player of the week three times in the last four weeks. Over the 5-foot-11 middle hitter's more-than-sizable 134 attack attempts on the week, McCracken has accumulated an astounding .500 hitting percentage.

Winners of five matches in a row and 12 of 14, Lesley returns to NECC play, taking on Newbury College Wednesday night at 7:30.
