Miller, McCracken lead Lynx into NECC Tournament

CAMBRIDGE, MA -- Reigning New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week Kaitlyn Miller and powerful middle hitter Amanda McCracken lead Lesley into the NECC Tournament, which starts Tuesday with quarterfinals action.

The No. 2-seed Lynx (17-9, 6-1 NECC) receive a bye for the quarterfinals round and will take on the winner of the No. 6 Bay Path at No. 3 Southern Vermont match in semifinals action on Friday night at the campus of Daniel Webster College in Nashua, NH.The host Eagles have the No. 1 seed after finishing conference play a perfect 7-0.

Lesley's opponent will either be the teams's most recent victory or the team's first league win. beat Southern Vermont 3-0 on Saturday behind match-highs of 33 assists from Miller and 23 kills from McCracken. Sophomore Megan Ortwein led all players with 15 digs in the win.

TJ Hajjar's Lynx earned a 3-0 win at Bay Path on October 2. Miller led all players with another 33-kill effort, while McCracken went for 18 kills and Ortwein chipped in with 10.

Should Lesley advance Friday night, it will return to Nashua for Saturday's 2:00 p.m. championship game.
