Women's volleyball falls to St. Joseph's (ME), 3-1

STANDISH, Maine - The Lesley University women's volleyball team lost to St. Joseph's College 3-1 on Tuesday evening, dropping their 2009 record to 2-6 on the season.  The Monks improved to 8-4 after winning their fourth match in-a-row.

Lynx freshman middle hitter Amanda McCracken (ELDERSBURG, Md./Liberty) tallied a team-high seven kills on 16 attempts with just three errors to lead her team.  McCracken, who is second on the team in total kills, also recorded double-digit digs with 12 and a solo block.

Complementing McCracken's effort were senior Lindsey Marek (KILLINGWORTH, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) and junior Meaghan Chadwick (CHELMSFORD, Mass./Chelmsford) who each had six kills each. 

Defensively, Alyssa Martin-Earisman (BEDFORD, Mass./Bedford) kept Lesley in the match with 11 digs and currently leads the team in that category with 56 on the season.

Freshman Kaitlyn Miller (LEESPORT, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) continued to be an effective setter, compiling 18 assists in the match. 

Lesley will be back in action on Thursday evening, September 17 against the Community College of Rhode Island starting at 7:30 pm.
