CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In her last week of regular season play in her collegiate career Megan Bol (Whitinsville, Mass.) went out on the highest note. The senior setter ended her 2006 campaign with a 73 assist, 12 kill and 7 ace week, her hitting percentage was an astronomical .353. Helping to lead her team to a 4th place finish in the NAC Bol was recognized by the NAC for her efforts as she was named NAC Player of the Week.
This is the first such award for Bol and it couldn't have come
at a more appropriate time. The senior has been one of two
centerpieces, the other being fellow senior Kim Bennett (Bartlett,
N.H.), that the women's volleyball team has been built
around. After two years of limited success the women's team
has finally turned the corner over the past two years finishing
with school records in wins each of the last two years.
Bol will continue to help lead the Lynx as they enter the playoffs
as the #4 seed in the NAC, their highest seeding ever. The
Lady Lynx will host UMaine-Farmington in the quarterfinals.
Bol and the rest of the Lady Lynx are looking to add to an already
extremely successful season.
