Women's volleyball earns fourth seed in tournament

FARMINGTON, Me. - After blowing a two game to none lead Lesley University escaped Farmington, ME with a sweep of U-Maine Farmington and Thomas College.  With the two wins Lesley finished the season 13-10 overall and 6-4 in the NAC.  The 6 13 wins and the 6 conference wins are the most in the program's history.  The Lady Lynx also owned the tie-breaker with Farmington so they finished fourth in the conference which is also their best finish in their program's history.

Lesley one the first game against Farmington 31-29 and won the second game 30-21.  It seemed as if Lesley had the match in hand, until Farmington stormed back winning the third and fourth games 30-25 and 30-20 respectively.  The Lady Lynx dug deep and pulled off the fifth game 15-12 to clinch the fourth seed.

Senior Setter Megan Bol (Whitinsville, Mass.) led the Lady Lynx with 33 assists.  Gianna Spaziante (Hawthorne, N.Y.) led the Lady Lynx with 14 kills and Kara Carpenter (Westfield, Mass.) led Lesley with 20 digs.

The fourth place finish means that Lesley will host the quarterfinal match-up which will be a re-match between The University of Maine at Farmington and Lesley University.  The match is set for Wednesday, November 1st at 7:00pm at Buckingham Browne and Nichols.  This will mark the first time in the school's history that the women's volleyball team will host a playoff game.
