CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 1 seeded Lesley University women's tennis team (8-4, 5-0 NAC) will look to capture the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship against the No. 2 seeded Husson University Eagles (7-2, 4-1 NAC). The championship match will occur on Sunday, October 13, at the Apex Racket and Fitness Center in Portland, Maine.
Five Things To Know
- Lesley has now appeared in the NAC championship in back-to-back seasons.
- With a win on Sunday, the Lynx could capture the program's first-ever conference championship and the university's first NAC title.
- Earlier this season, Lesley defeated Husson 5-4. This was the ninth matchup in the program's history, with the Eagles leading overall, 6-3. However, the Lynx have currently won the last three contests.

Who To Watch For
- Doubles will be a crucial area to watch for the Lynx as the squad boasts two pairings who have posted five or more wins this season. First is the pairing of Caroline Champa (Boston, Mass.) and Jessica Legendre (Leesville, La.). The duo improved their record to 6-0 with an 8-1 win in Saturday's NAC semifinal match.
- Lesley's other top doubles pairing is Lucy Boyce (Marshfield, Mass.) and Mary Osucha (Knoxville, Tenn.). The sophomores are an impressive 10-2 and took their NAC semifinals matchup 8-1. Earlier this year, when the two faced off against Husson, they won their doubles match 8-4 in the No. 1 spot.
- Osucha will be relied on in doubles and singles action. She is currently tied with a team-high 11 victories (11-1). In her previous singles match against Husson this year, she won 6-1, 6-2.
- Another key student-athlete in singles play for Lesley is junior Jessica Legendre (Leesville, La.). Legendre also has 11 victories on the year (11-1), including her NAC semifinals win of 6-2, 6-1. Last time she faced the Eagles, Legendre took her matchup 6-0, 6-0.
