Women's Tennis Remains Unbeaten in NAC with 7-2 Win vs Hornets

THE LEAD – Lesley University stayed perfect in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action, downing VTSU Lyndon by a 7-2 final on Saturday afternoon at the Dudley Bell Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Lynx dominated the top of the line-up in both singles and doubles play, holding the Hornets to zeros across the board in No. 1 & No. 2 doubles as well as No. 1 through No. 3 singles.
  • Sophomores Mary Osucha (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Lucy Boyce (Marshfield, Mass.) continued their dominant run in doubles action with an 8-0 win while junior Jessica Legendre (Leesville, La.) and grad student Caroline Champa (Boston, Mass.) nabbed an 8-0 in No. 2 doubles.
  • Osucha (No. 1 singles), Legendre (No. 2 singles) and Champa (No. 3 singles) did not drop a game in their singles play to secure the win on the match.
  • First year Anna Stamp (Belchertown, Mass.) also notched a shutout win in No. 5 singles action while Boyce earned a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 4 slot.
  • The Hornets picked up an 8-0 win in No. 3 doubles as Niyjah Wright and Ella Huntington downed Tali-Anna Sutherland (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Pamela Manriquez (Quincy, Mass.). Huntington also posted a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 6 singles for VTSY Lyndon.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Osucha remains undefeated on the year in both singles (6-0) and doubles (6-0) play while Legendre is unbeaten in singles action (6-0).
  • The 3-0 start in NAC play matches the program's best start in conference action from the 2019 season when the Lynx finished the year 5-1in NAC action.
