THE LEAD –  The Lynx headed to Husson for the 2023 NAC Women's Tennis Championship this Saturday, in the second seed position. Lesley played Husson in the Semifinal, then went on to compete against top-seeded Eastern Nazarene College for the Championship. Lesley fell to ENC, ending the season as the NAC Runner-Ups.  

HOW IT HAPPENED - HUSSON

  • The Lynx came out strong in the doubles matches, Brooke Whitten and Jordan Blair made quick work of Husson's Hannah Duley and Olivia Chandler with an 8-1 win.
  • Jessica Legendre and Mary Osucha continued their season long winning streak with another "W" against Julia Barber and Molly Chicoine with an end score of 8-5.
  • Lesley held a 2-1 lead heading into singles matches, Osucha put up 6-1, 6-0 scores against Emily Doten.
  • Legendre and Whitten rounded out the match for the Lynx with two 6-2, 6-2 wins to clinch their spot in the Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED – ENC

  • Lesley's lineups had some major changes going into the Championship after Legendre was pulled from the lineup, leaving the Lynx without their No. 1 singles player. 
  • Co-Player of the year Sofia Rojas and Pamela Gonzalez finished Whitten and Blair 8-0 in the number one doubles position.
  • ENC held a 3-0 lead heading into singles, where Sara Poletto beat Blair 6-0, 6-0.
  • Hycell Colmenares Duno finished Lucy Boyce 6-1, 6-1 for the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Legendre and Osucha stayed undefeated in the number one doubles position with their win in the Semis.
  • This was the Lynx first Championship appearance since the 2019 season, where they also finished in the runner up position.
