THE LEAD – Lesley won two-of-three doubles matches, which proved to be the winning margin as the Lynx defeated Salem State University, 5-4, at The Central Campus Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon. The Vikings slip to 0-7 on the year while Lesley improves to 6-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In number one doubles, Jessica Legendre and Mary Osucha continued to dominate at No. 1 doubles action with an 8-0 sweep while Brooke Whitten and Jordan Blair picked up an 8-3 win in No. 2 doubles to give Lesley an early lead.
- Legendre and Osuhcha were perfect on the day in their singles match play, posting a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
- Whitten picked up the win at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1, to seal the team win with a 5-4 score.
- The last three single spots provided wins for Salem State as Kenzie McLaren earned a 6-3, 7-5 win over Jordan Blair at third singles.
- SSU's Ryann Tripp and Erin Curristin compiled wins at fifth and sixth singles as Tripp won 6-2, 6-4 over Lucy Boyce while Curristin shutout Ariane Ramos 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets.
- Miah Reyes / Alanna Zaldivar earned the other point for the Vikings, winning 8-2 over Boyce / Ramos at third doubles.

- The Lynx head to Husson University for the 2023 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Semifinal this Saturday, September 28 for a 12:00 PM showdown. The Lynx head into NAC postseason play as the No. 2 seed while the tournament host Eagles boast the No. 3 seed. The winner from this Semifinal match will take on the winner of the No. 4 Thomas vs. No. 1 Eastern Nazarene pairing later in the day in the 2023 NAC Championship match with an NCAA Division III tournament berth on the line.
