Lynx Fall in Close 5-4 Match with Albertus Magnus

GAME OVERVIEW:

ARLINGTON, MA.-- The Lesley Women's Tennis team dropped a close match to the Albertus Magnus Falcons 5-4 on Saturday afternoon. The Lynx fall to 0-9 overall this season and 0-5 in conference play, while the Falcons advance to 1-4 and 1-3 in the GNAC.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Falcons had the advantage after the doubles matches, winning two out of three against the Lynx. Jordan Blair and Brenna Peterson picked up Lesley's only win, taking down Nayelli Garcia and Bailey Mitchell-Warren 8-6. Albertus Magnus took the other two matches, with JuJu Oliver and Julianna Sigut defeating Brooke Whitten and Morgan Anderson 8-5 and Mariah Mandulak and Anna Maria DeLucia beating Joselyn Martinez and Annie Dai 8-6.
  • Martinez and Dai each earned a singles win for the Lynx, as Martinez took down Sigut 6-0 and 6-3 while Dai beat DeLucia 6-2 and 6-0. Blair earned a win as well, though it was a close one. She dropped the first set 6-1 against Garcia and came back to win the final two sets 6-1 and 6-3 for the win.
  • The Falcons' top players earned them the win, with Oliver and Mandulak earning their second wins of the afternoon. Oliver beat Whitten in two 6-1 sets, while Mandulak took down Anderson 6-0 and 6-0. The final win the Falcons needed came from Sabrinna Accioly defeating Peterson 6-2 and 6-4.
