Beacons Too Strong for Lynx

GAME OVERVIEW:

BOSTON, Mass.-- The Lesley women's tennis team dropped a non-conference mid week match to UMass Boston, 9-0 Tuesday afternoon.  The loss gives gives the Lynx a 3-2 overall record while the Beacons improve to 3-1.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Beacons took control of the match right out of the gate, sweeping the doubles matches 3-0.  No. 2 doubles tandem Summer Lamprey and Morgan Anderson put up a tough fight, falling just 8-7, for the closest overall set of the match for the Lynx.
  • UMass Boston continued its dominance through the singles matches to earn the complete 9-0 non-conference sweep.
  • Lamprey again put up the closet battle in the No. 4 singles, taking her counterpart to three sets. Beacons Valerie Tueme won the third 10-7, to claim the No. 4 position victory.
  • Lynx first year Kiki Karavas battle to three sets in the No.6 spot, but Chloe Gates was able to secure the third set to earn the sweep for the Beacons.
