GAME OVERVIEW:
Cambridge, Mass.-- Visiting UMass Dartmouth swept the Lesley Women's Tennis team 9-0 Thursday evening at Veteran's field. With the loss, the Lynx drop to 1-5 on the year while the Corsairs improve to 3-2.
INSIDE THE SCORESHEET:
- UMass Dartmouth opened the match with a clean 3-0 sweep in the doubles portion. Theresa Periera and Sara Stanton fell to Jenna Lahaie and Jamie Fastino 8-3 in the No.1 slot. Maddie Abbot and Jessica Russo fell to Monika Reining and Rachel Aftandilian in the No. 1 position, while Mary Pulling and Annie Dai paied up in the No.3 against Michelle Aftandilian and Jordan Martin. Both Corsairs tandems earned 8-4 victories.
- The Corsairs continued its dominance through the singles portion, earning all six victories in two sets a piece. The Lynx couldn't muster up the offense and did not score more than three points across the board.
- Abbott squared off against Lahaie in the No. 1 singles, with Lahaie earning the win with score of 6-1 and 6-3. UMass Dartmouth's Fastino only allowed Pereira to claim one point, winning the No.2 match 6-1 and 6-0.
- Russo, Stanton, Pulling, and Tobin rounded out the singles matches for the Lynx against a dominant Corsairs line up in M.Aftandilian, R. Aftandilian, Reining, and Emma Sokolowsky each earning victories.
