Lynx Suffer Set Back vs Suffolk

CAMBRIDGE, MASS– The Lesley University Women's Tennis Team was defeated by Suffolk University by a score of 8 to 1 in a non-conference matchup Thursday night.  With the loss, the Lynx now post a record of 2-4 while the Rams of Suffolk improve to 3-4 on the season.

No. 1 doubles, Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass) and Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, Mass) looked to get a good start for the Lynx scoring the first points of the match with an 8-4 victory over Suffolk's Isabel Rathlev and Elena Cisneros Garcia.  This would serve as the only win for the Lynx, as the Rams went on to win the final two matches.   No. 2 doubles, Jessica Russo (Watertown, Mass) and Maddie Abbott (Portland, Maine) suffered a 9-7 loss in a back and forth battle against Suffolk's Delaney Dunlap and Keeley Hardy.   Suffolk's Jacki Nakamura and Danlyn Medou defeated Sara Stanton (Manchester, Mass) and Rachel Mingingham (Hopedale, Mass) in a competitive set with a final score of 8-6 to round out the doubles portion. 

Suffolk continued to control the night sweeping all six matchups.  The results were the following: Caroline Kiddie (Scitiuate, Mass) vs. Delaney Dunlap (3-6), (6-3), (9-11).  Maddie Abbott (Portland, Maine) vs. Elena Cisneros Garcia (3-6), (2-6).  Theresa Pereira (Hopedale Mass) vs. Isabel Rathlev (4-6), (4-6).  Jessica Russo (Watertown, Mass) vs. Keeley Hardy (0-6), (1-6).  Sara Stanton (Manchester, Mass) vs. Danlyn Medou (1-6), (1-6).  Rachel Miningham (Hopedale, Mass) vs. Meaghan French (3-6), (2-6).

The Lynx next travel to Umass-Dartmouth on Saturday, September 30th for a 1:00pm start time.  The Rams of Suffolk University will face off against Albertus Magnus on September 30th for a conference matchup.
