Lynx Fall to Eastern Nazarene, 9-0.

(QUINCY, Mass.)---The Lesley women's tennis team fell to non-conference foe Eastern Nazarene, 9-0. With the sweep, the Lions improve to 4-1 on the season while the Lynx fall to 2-3.

The Lions took the early 3-0 lead in the doubles portion of the contest. Lesley's own Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, Mass.) and Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.) fell to the Lions duo of Sharon Biondi (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Emily Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany), 6-2. In the No. 2 spot, the duo of Adele Duval (Reading, Calif.) and Lindsey Steelman (Darlington, Md.) defeat Maddie Abbott (Portland, Maine) and Jessica Russo (Watertown, Mass.), 8-3. In the final doubles battle of the night, Veronica Jimenez (Lynn, Mass.) and Jordan Cressman (Bowmanstown, Pa.) team up to remain hot with a 8-3 victory over the Lynx pair of Rachel Mingingham (Hopedale, Mass.) and Sara Stanton (Manchester, Mass.).

In the first singles match of the night, the Lynx's own Kiddie fell to Biondi; 6-1 both sets. Ruttkowski defeats Abbott; 6-1 and 6-0, while Lesley's Pereira fell to Duval; 6-2, 6-3. In the four spot, the Lions own Steelman blanked Russo 6-0 both times. Stanton fought hard in the five spot but fell 7-6, 6-4 against Cressman. In the final matchup of the game, Ryder came up short against Jimenez 6-0, 7-5.

The Lynx will return to play next Thursday September 28, 2017 as they take one Suffolk University. Match time set for 7:30 p.m.
