CAMBRIDGE, MA -- Bay Path improved to 8-2 on the season by knocking off host Lesley University, 8-1, in New England Collegiate Conference women's tennis play Wednesday night at the Nicholas Athletics Center.
Bay Path junior Symone Watson (Hamden, CT/Hamden) earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over Katie Side in No. 1 singles play, and Wildcats sophomore Stephanie Morin (Springfield, MA/Sabis Intl.) defeated Hannah Phalen 7-5, 6-0 in second singles before teaming with Watson to beat Side and Jillian Clarke 8-0 in top doubles play.
For the Lynx, the sophomore duo of Emma True (Lee, NH/Oyster River) and Molly Phelps (Durham, NH/Oyster River) earned a second straight win in second doubles, defeating Teanna Montoya and Abigail Janneke 8-7 for the Lynx lone point on the night.
The Wildcats swept singles play, earning all six points in improving to 3-1 in NECC matches.
Lesley (0-6, 0-4 NECC) returns to play Saturday morning at home against Becker at 11:00. Bay Path also remains in NECC play on Saturday, playing host to Newbury at noon.
