WESTON, MA -- Lesley dropped its New England Collegiate Conference road opener, falling 9-0 to undefeated host Regis College Thursday afternoon.
Regis' Abigail Wehr and Jazz Hicks earned two-set victories in first and second singles, respectively, and teamed for an 8-2 first doubles win over Lesley's Katie Side and Brenna Donovan. The Pride's Kendall Kolb knocked off Lesley senior Hannah Phalen 6-0, 6-1 in No. 3 singles and teamed with Erika Palmer for an 8-2 win over Phalen and freshman Meghann Toomanjian.
The win lifts the Pride to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in NECC play. With the loss, the Lynx fall to 0-4 and 0-2 in NECC action.
Lesley returns to the court on Saturday at noon in conference play at Mitchell College.
