CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- The Lynx picked up an 8-1 win over Newbury College in both teams' New England Collegiate Conference openers Saturday afternoon.

Michelle Side, Brenna Donovan, Emily Scolaro and Christina Constantine earned victories in first, third, fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Side teamed with sister Katie Side for an 8-5 first doubles victory, Donovan and Nicole Smith earned an 8-6 second doubles win, and Lesley received three additional points by Newbury forefit to take and 8-1 victory.

At 1-1 on the season and tied for first in the NECC at 1-0, the Lynx remain in league play against Regis College Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
