Women's Soccer Names 2025 Team Captains

The Lesley University women's soccer program has announced its four team captains for the 2025 season. The Lynx will be led by Zoe Curtaz (Novato, Calif.), Maddy Duskocy (Ellington, Conn.), Madison Reed (Burlingame, Calif.), and Rachel Weinzimer (Woodland Hills, Calif.)

"These four student-athletes have all the ingredients you want in a captain. Their work rate in training, their compassionate personalities when a teammate needs support, and their passion for Lesley women's soccer makes them our program's ideal captains," said head coach Paul Vasconcelos."The staff and team have complete confidence in the captains and are excited for what lies ahead."

Curtaz had a career year for the Lynx, setting new career highs in multiple categories, including games played (20), games started (16), goals (six), assists (five), points (17), and shots (31). Curtaz recorded at least one point in nine contests last year, and in those games, Lesley was 6-1-2. Curtaz also had a stretch where she finished with multiple points in three straight games, and in those games, Lesley was a perfect 3-0-0. With her strong efforts from the past season, Curtaz was recognized as NAC All-Conference First Team honoree. She also earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team for the first time in her career. In her Lynx tenure, Curtaz has played in 58 games (started in 31) and scored 13 goals while dishing out 11 assists for 37 points. She is also an NAC All-Academic Team recipient.

Weinzimer was a solid contributor to the Lesley defense this season. She not only helped Lesley put up conference-best defensive numbers, but she also chipped in offensively, scoring one goal and dishing out her first collegiate assist. Her lone goal came in a 6-0 triumph over Mass. Maritime (Oct. 30), and her first career assist came from a 4-0 win against Framingham State (Oct. 16). On the year, Lesley finished with a 10-7-3 record and a 6-3-1 mark in conference play. With their 10 wins, the Lynx have finished with at least 10 or more wins every year since 2006. Lesley's offense was one of the most high-powered in the conference as the team finished within the top five in numerous offensive categories, including goals per game (2.5- 2nd), goals for (50-2nd), and shots (400-2nd). Lesley also saw 12 different student-athletes find the back of the net last season and will look to carry this momentum going into 2025.
