Women's Soccer Blanks Daniel Webster

NASHUA, N.H. – The Lesley University women's soccer team dropped host Daniel Webster College in a 3-0 decision this afternoon in a New England Collegiate Conference matchup at Eagle Field on Saturday.

 The Lynx improved to 6-5 overall on the season and a perfect 2-0 in NECC play while the Eagles fall to 1-6 on the season and 0-2 in conference matches.

Freshman Kai Morehead (Oxnard, Calif.) and Karlie Rubin (San Diego, Calif.) paced the offense for the Lynx with a goal and assist apiece. Senior Selena Quezada (West Covina, Calif.) also scored for the visitors, who won their third straight.

Eagle rookie goalkeeper Stephanie Evans (Washington, Iowa) made 28 saves – the most for an Eagle net minder in 16 years when Emily Jacob stopped 35 against Western New England.

Quezada put Lesley up at the 20 minute mark of the first and the score remained such into the break. Rubin doubled the lead in the 56th and Morehead closed out the scoring in the 68th.

Lesley finished with 34 total shots on goal.

Daniel Webster returns to action on Tuesday with game two of a three-game home stand hosting Pine Manor at 3:30 p.m. Lesley visits Fitchburg State on Wednesday at 7:00p.
