Undefeated Lynx set to host NECC Tournament

CAMBRIDGE, MA -- After finishing undefeated in league play for a fourth consecutive year, the Lynx will again play host to the New England Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Tournament.

At 9-0-0 in the NECC and having again secured homefield advantage throughout the conference tournament, the Lynx will play host to the winner of Wednesday's No. 5 Southern Vermont versus No. 4 Becker match.

The winner of that game will take on the No. 1 seed Lynx Friday night at Edward Field in Cambridge.

When Lesley's potential playoff opponents met in the regular season, Lesley used an 87th minute Sarah Apgar goal to tie the match at Southern Vermont, and after a Kate Ryder goal two minutes later, the Lynx left Bennington, Vermont with a 2-1 win over the Mountaineers.

At Becker, Ryder scored the team's first goal in the 40th minute and Apgar added the Lynx second goal in the 62nd minute in Lesley's 2-0 win.

Lesley capped a clean NECC slate at 9-0-0 with a 6-0 Senior Night victory over Daniel Webster Saturday night at Edward Field, finishing the regular season at 14-2-2.
