Women's soccer works road tie at MIT

CAMBRIDGE, MA -- Lesley women's soccer tied with intracity rival MIT Tuesday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer play.

Lynx goalkeeper Emileigh Lloyd earned the shutout, her second of the season, making two saves on the afternoon. Engineers keeper Meghan Wright was equally as stellar, earning a shutout in stopping all four Lynx shots on goal.

Leading scorers Veronica Halen and Alexis Giusti led the Lynx with two shots each, with reigning NECC Player of the Year Halen putting one on goal. For MIT, All-NEWMAC midfielder Emily Kuo led all players with three shots, while Ambika Krisnamach came off the bench to put both of her two shots on goal, which accounted for both of Lloyd's saves.

While Lesley put four shots on goal to only two for the Engineers, both of which came before halftime, MIT outshot Lesley 12-9. Lesley earned a 9-8 advantage in corner kicks.

Paul Vasconcelos' Lynx return to play Saturday morning at 10:30 in NECC play at Becker College.
