MILTON, MA -- Lesley outshot the Colonials 32-16 on the night, but it took a second half Sarah Apgar goal to force a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes of play Thursday night against non-conference foe Curry College.

Curry's Taylor Evans put the Colonials ahead 1-0 in the 35th minute, scoring on a pass from Kiley Farrell. Apgar answered with the equalizer 10 minutes out of halftime, when at 54:40 the junior tied the contest with her first goal of the season on a feed from Melinda Robinson.

After a scoreless 35-plus minutes to round out the second half, Lesley came within inches of running off with a win midway through the first overtime, when a Jamie Coyne offering hit the goalpost at 95:20. With neither team scoring through the rest of the first extra frame, a blocked shot off the foot of Lesley's Chelsea Contre led to a Lynx corner kick. Out of the kick, sophomore Emily Johnston was the next to come up unlucky, also hitting a post with her shot to start the 103rd minute.

Lesley managed a pair of corner kicks and five shots over the final seven minutes, but none found the net as each team settled for its first tie of 2012.

On top of the 32-16 advantage in shots, Lesley put 17 shots on goal compared to 10 for the Colonials.

Lynx sophomore Emileigh Lloyd made nine saves in net, while Curry's Samantha Hardy saved 16 shots.

At 5-1-1, Lesley opens New England Collegiate Conference play on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Southern Vermont.
