Five-game winning streak snapped as Lynx fall at Endicott

BEVERLY, MA -- Lesley's five-game winning streak to open 2012 came to an end Tuesday afternoon, as Endicott held on for a 2-1 win over the visiting Lynx in non-conference women's soccer play.

Lesley senior Kate Ryder sent home her second goal of the season, a strike into the top center net from 15 yards on a feed from sophomore Alexis Guisti that cut the Lynx deficit to 2-1 at 50:48. By that time, though, the damage had been done, as Lexi Dussi's second goal of the season on an assist from Nicole Fournier pushed Endicott out to a 2-0 lead just three minutes out of halftime.

Endicott went into the intermission with a 1-0 lead thanks to Fournier's second tally of the season, an unassisted strike at 31:19. For the half, the Gulls outshot Lesley 5-4, earning a 10-9 advantage in shots overall with each team landing five shots on goal.

For the Lynx, goalkeeper Emileigh Lloyd made three saves, while Gulls keeper Natalie Wyrsch stopped four Lesley shots.

With the assist, Giusti is now tied for the New England Collegiate Conference lead with four on the season.

Lesley returns to play on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., continuing its non-conference tour of The Commonwealth Coast Conference at Curry College.
