WORCESTER, MA -- In spite of outshooting opponents in 12 of the team's first 13 matches, often by a considerable margain, Lesley entered the night with four losses and a pair of ties to its record.

For most of Wednesday night at Becker, it was more of the same for Paul Vasconcelos' club, which went into the 103rd minute in a 1-1 tie depite a 28-3 advantage in shots and a 12-1 lead in shots on goal.

At that point, Emma Fogg was determined to make shot No. 29 count.

The senior stole a pass in the Hawks goalkeeper box and fired it past Becker's Alena Phongsa, sending the Lynx to a key 2-1 double-overtime road victory in New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer play. For Fogg, her second goal of 2010 couldn't have come at a better time.

The Hawks struck first, at 15:29, when Jodi Theriault connected from 40 yards on an indirect kick, lofting a shot over Lynx goalkeeper Corinne Dasti to put the home team in front 1-0.

Becker remained in the lead through halftime and for the first 15 minutes of the second. With just over 30 minutes remaining in regulation, freshman Veronica Halen beat a diving Phongsa, putting the Lynx on the board and tying the contest 1-1 with her team-leading fith goal of the year.

Phongsa made 10 saves through regulation and one in early in double overtime before Fogg crept in for the game-winner at 102:42.

Lesley remains undefeated in NECC play at 4-0-1 and improves to 8-4-2 on the season. The veteran Lynx are now 1-0-2 in games decided after regulation.

Becker falls to 4-9-0 (2-2-0 NECC) with the loss.

Vasconcelos' club will honor Fogg and fellow seniors Alyson Durben, Chelsea Quackenbush, Dory Lecount and Sarah Etzel during Saturday's 7 p.m. home contest against against Southern Vermont.
