Lynx can't find back of the net in 2-0 loss to St. Joseph's

CENTEREACH, NY – In spite of outshooting the Golden Eagles 14-4, Lesley had its five-match unbeaten streak snapped at the hands of St. Joseph's (NY) with a 2-0 loss Sunday afternoon in Centereach, Long Island.

Erin Beach got St. Joseph's on the board late in the first half with an unassisted score at 39:39. It remained a one-goal game until Ashley Demeo added another unassisted tally with 12:03 remaining.

For head coach Paul Vasconcelos' team, now 4-2-1 on the season, the loss wasn't for a lack of opportunities. Twelve different Lynx registered shots, with Emma Fogg and Chelsea Contre both coming off the bench to lead the offense with two shots each. Lesley spent the majority of the game at St. Joseph's end of the field, accumulating nine corner kicks to only one for the Golden Eagles.

Only six of the Lynx shots, however, were put on goal, with St. Joseph's goalkeeper Michelle Gulino making six saves in the shutout. Corinne Dasti made one save in net for Lesley.

The Lynx are in action again on Tuesday at MIT at 4 p.m.
