Fralick nets hat trick against UMass-Boston on Senior Night

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In their final warmup before the North Atlantic Conference playoffs begin, Lesley shut out UMass-Boston 5-0, led by Jodi Fralick's (Woburn, Mass.) three goals.

Goals were also scored by freshman striker Lauren Mastellone (Howell, N.J.) and Cathryn Folkestad (Ipswich, Mass.).  Junior Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) assisted Fralick on two of her goals while Christina Corso (Shoreham, N.Y.) gave the lead pass for Mastellone's lone goal.  Fralick's three goals gave her a total of 22 for the season, the same number she put up in her first year in which she was named Rookie of the Year by the NAC.  Mastellone's goal gives her 16 goals on the season for the high powered Lynx offense.

UMass-Boston had a couple near goals but all of their shots were rejected by Lesley keeper Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.).  In the middle of the second half, UMB's best opportunity to score came when Krysten Platte received a deflected pass right in front of the net but her shot rolled just wide left of the post.  Jill Collins and Kristi Morales provided consistent pressure on Lowe as they each tallied 3 and 2 shots on goal, respectively.  Despite the pressure, Lowe posted her ninth shutout of the season.

The victory gives the Lynx a 14-3-1 (6-3-1 NAC) mark on the season while UMB dropped to 5-11-1.

Lesley begins their quest for the NAC championship this Saturday October 27 at 1 p.m. against Elms College.  Come show your support for the Lynx as they look to keep their success rolling into the playoffs.
